We give snowflakes a lot of credit—and yet no two things across the universe are identical.

Even the breath you're taking now is different from the one you took just moments ago.

Even two photocopies differ from their original and from each other.

If something is distinct in its place in space and time, it is unique. It will have its own specific effect on the world, however small. Even the photocopies may be seen by different people and elicit different reactions. Though they may look the same, they are unique.

And because they are unique, they have their own unique role to play in history. In this way, they are intrinsically valuable.

You can try your best to fight your novelty; you can spend your whole life imitating others, and you will fail. You can follow each and every footstep of those who came before you and your path will still be unique
